What to do first

No best-build claim

  1. 01

Practice one defensive answer before chasing damage.

Mortal Shell II removes stamina limits, but posture, recovery timing, Guard, Harden, and positioning still decide whether an attack is safe.

  2. 02

Activate every nearby beacon before taking a side route.

A named beacon gives a reproducible return point and keeps location guides understandable after a death or detour.

  3. 03

Claim an early permanent Shell, then test it before spending Glimpses.

Tiel and Proxima are both reachable in early Fainweald, while Shell bond investment is a separate long-term choice.

  4. 04

Keep one familiar melee weapon as the upgrade baseline.

A repeatable moveset is more useful than changing weapons every time a current ranking changes.

  5. 05

Recover dropped Gloom before starting another risky route.

Gloom supports progression and now also pays for Shell map locations and cheaper weapon smelting under Balance Patch 1.

  6. 06

Read the update page before copying a build or farm route.

Launch patches already changed bosses, weapon behavior, Tarstones, and the economy.
